The Princess of Wales may be well known for her immaculate sense of style but she is also envied by many for her shiny and bouncy brunette locks.
Princess Kate's hair secrets for sleek and glossy curls have long been the subject of discussion among royal fans worldwide.
From shorter lengths to longer luscious locks, the future Queen knows how to mesmerise the crowds with any hairstyle she pulls.
But it looks like even Kate, who naturally has curly hair, is only human after all like the rest of us and her hair cannot handle the effects of humidity.
In throwback pictures taken just a few years after Kate's marriage to Prince William, the princess's glossy locks are nowhere to be seen.

During Kate and William's 2012 royal tour of East Asia and the Pacific in celebration of the late Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Princess of Wales gave royal fans a very rare glimpse of her natural curls.
On day seven of their tour, September 17, Kate, then-duch*ess of Cambridge and William visited Tuvanipupu Island in the Solomon Islands.
Her usually sleek and glossy hairstyle was instead replaced by voluminous waves as Kate was faced with the elements of tropical island weather.

Founder of Perfect Silhouette Hairdressing Robyn Wood said: "During her time in the public eye, Kate Middleton has cemented herself as one of the most recognised hair icons! People have used her looks as a point of reference and inspiration for the latest hair trends and how to wear them well. Having been a hairdresser for nearly 20 years, and now a bridal specialist, I have been asked on so many occasions for ‘Kate Middleton’ hair.
"She has perfected her signature look so well that I know exactly what a client means when they say this. A great example of this is her wedding day hair which is still copied to this day.
"Her style has changed over the years as trends change she has always adapted it to suit her and looks elegant and effortless. It's easy to see why she is a hair icon!"
